Saldivar News: Mom gets more family visitors!
First, Mom continues to feel great. TTL.
Second, Mom continues to be blessed by visits from her respective family.
Saturday, March 12th, 2011, she had her baby brother, my tio Gabriel (Junior) Martinez and his wife/my tia Micaela, drive down from Liberal, KS to see her. That made Mama so very happy. Tio and tia arrived on Saturday morning and stayed through Sunday morning. Once again it was so much appreciated by Mom and us (my siblings and me - our entire Dominguez family). I arrived en route from Midland on our way to Lubbock Saturday afternoon (with Sara) in time to visit with tio and tia for a few minutes before we headed to Lubbock to see Sara's uncle Rain and his family. It was nice getting to talk to tio Junior. My great-nephew, John, took it upon himself to start the bar-be-que that day which Mom was looking forward to and it sounds like John did a great job. I was proud of him. He did not wait for someone to tell him to clean the grill, he just did it and prepped for the cook-out which was the first one he had ever led all by himself. For his first time doing this, he did a wonderful job so "kudos" to my great-nephew, John, for that. Sara and I left before the food was done, but we benefited from left-overs which Mama and Aurora brought to us during their trip to Midland that following Monday. Tio and tia took Locario back to Liberal with them, BTW. That was very nice of them. One of Lucky's sons drove from Ulysses to Liberal to pick him up. Mom appreciated it as I am sure Lucky's family did, too.
I asked Sara to take pics of us during our brief visit with them on Saturday before we went on ahead to Lubbock and as soon as I upload them, I will post them.

Saldivar News: Mom gets family visitors!
First, Mom has been feeling great. TTL.
Second, Mom has been blessed by visits from her respective family.
Saturday, March 5th, 2011, she had her baby sister, my tia Jaunita Garza, come down from Ulysses, KS to see her. Tia was joined by my three cousins, Heidi and her husband (Hobbs, NM); Lisa (Ulysses) and Stella (Midland). They catered to Mom that morning/noon, and it was so much appreciated by Mom and us (my siblings and me - our entire Dominguez family). I arrived from Midland with Sara in time to visit with them for a few minutes before they actually left to go back to Stella's home in Midland. We all briefly touched upon planning a possible Saldivar Family reunion; Mama and cousin Lisa have long spoken about scheduling such a reunion, but it looks like things will finally be in the works for one. I look forward to that - we all do, especially Mama!!! As the eldest sibling in her family (Moreno and Saldivar sides), Mama takes great pride in that fact, and has long wanted the Saldivar side of her family to gather for such an event (reunion).
Anyway, we stayed for the remainder of the day and spent time visiting for a while with Betty at her jewelry store then back to Mama's home. We also spent time with my nephew, John, and great-nephew, John Jr. John made a roast for Mom and her family to eat which they did earlier that day...Sara and I also enjoyed some of it. Betty came by later for dinner and was able to have a taste of it. Way-to-go, John, the roast was "delish". Mama was on cloud 9 that entire day especially because her sister had been there earlier with her family. The only regret I was left with that day is that I had our camera in tow, but still managed to forget to take pics. Everything was going so fast as we arrived and tia and her family was leaving. For sure plenty of pics will be taken and posted here on this blog from the reunion. TLW.
Sunday, March 6th, 2011, my cousin Yolanda (my late tio Crispin's daughter) and her mom (my tia) Luisa visited Mom. I was not there at all that day but was told that they enjoyed a nice visit with Mom and my sisters, Eva and Betty (with their respective family). Eva and her family and Betty and Billy usually spend Sundays with Mom; they go there for an "after church" brunch. Mama's weekend was wonderful according to her. We are a lucky and blessed family. TTL.
